Tega & Tula Specialty Coffee Approximately 460 km southwest of Addis Ababa, in the Heart of the Kafa Biosphere Reserve, lie the dense and wild natural Bonga jungle of Gembo woreda; a nature reserve registered by UNESCO for its unmatched beauty, character and heritage. One of the unique qualities of this hallowed jungle (Kafa Biosphere Reserve) is that it is where the famous and ancient origin story of Arabica Coffee comes from. It also contains close to 5,000 wild varieties of the plant in this biodiversity hotspot. It is in the Kafa Biosphere Reserve where Tega and Tula Special Coffee Farm Agro industry PLC first established itself as one of the fast-growing and modern coffee producer, processor and exporter of specialty grade arabica coffee through the FairChain business model. Soon after, spreading operations to the Sheka Biosphere Reserve which is also UNESCO-registered and Guji Zone; an area known for producing its renowned coffee variety with a perfect combination of high altitude, consistent rainfall, fertile soils, and rich nutrients. Currently, we manage multiple coffee farms and washing stations distributed in the three areas with the same Agro-ecologies.
