Main duties and responsibilities:
- Inspect the company’s transactions and related documents and verify accuracy and legitimacy.
- Review the accuracy, timeliness, and relevance of financial information and other disclosures provided to management.
- Review periodic returns of the work units to verify that their financial reports truly depict their economic position.
- Perform an audit-related investigation as directed by the CEO.
- Communicate audit findings to Auditees to obtain their responses and prepare an action plan for final rectifications.
- Conduct a physical count of stock and fixed assets and verify the existence and reconciliation against financial records.
- Discuss audit findings and recommendations with line managers and report on the identified issues to management.
- Prepare audit reports in line with the approved audit plan.
- Propose and develop a risk-based audit plan for operational audits in various functions.
- Execute audit processes and assess company operations, processes, compliance, and other associated risks.
- Identify opportunities for improving business processes, based on audit outcomes, to minimize risks.
- Identify operational risks and make recommendations to manage risks.
- Maintain documentation for risk assessment and management processes.
- Evaluate and revise internal controls and operational and management policies/procedures, and recommend improvements as appropriate.
- Assist management in developing the annual audit plan.
- Ensure compliance with government laws and company regulations.
