Job Description

  • Lead the development of a nutrition program strategies for NCA country office
  • Provide technical leadership for nutrition development programmes
  • Identify talent and capacity gaps, build capacity and mentor nutrition program staff in partners office through development/ adaptation of relevant training materials
  • Ensure that gender, disability and resilience consideration are reflected in all our nutrition programme in design and implementation
  • Provide technical backstopping as needs during humanitarian health and nutrition response needs for the country office
  • Technically lead to ensure development and humanitarian nexus with NCA;s nutrition programming
  • Work with protection, wash and livelihood colleagues to ensure that complementary and synergy approach is reflected in our programme design and implementation with a strong focus on community participation
  • Respond to requests for technical expertise from partners office and nutrition program/project offices staff
  • Facilitate effective partnership with key stakeholders engaged in the implementation of nutrition programmes
  • Closely work with and contributes on the national technical advocacy platforms, taskforces, working group and subgroup
  • Collaborates with nutrition partners and stakeholders to ensure synergy, sharing of technical resource, learning and mutual support
  • Represent NCA in relevant working groups, task force, seminars and all relevant platforms

Job Requirement

  • Master’s degree in nutrition or MPH, BSc degree with exceptional and relevant work experience may be considered in lieu
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in technically lead, managing and implement large-scale nutrition development project
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate disability to lead and work effectively in team situations
  • Training negotiation, mentorship, facilitation and team building skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Amharic, able to communication professionally with a wide range of contacts; able to show tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
